LABOR:

My mom often described the times she felt most secure in this life were while she worked the pizza production line at Geno’s, because she had just enough money in her pocket to afford an apartment, bus pass, and food as a single mother of four kids.

Everyone should be able to provide for themselves and their families, yet far too many community members are still making tough choices between paying rent, utilities, and putting food on the table.

1.

Small business assistance and investments in local community-organizations for the continued recovery of hardworking Minnesotans as a result of COVID-19, and I’ll prioritize equitable economic opportunities for those historically excluded, especially women of color and lgbtq folks, so we can all thrive.

2.

High speed broadband and reliable cell service for every household in the district because too many are cost-burdened and left without digital access.

3.

I am a fierce advocate for workers’ rights and collaborate on policies that ensure living wages, safe working conditions, and a voice on the job including high quality education and affordable quality child care and elder care.

6.

Healthy, green infrastructure like community solar so our district can be a leader in green jobs and building an inclusive, healthy economy.

4.

Paid family and medical leave to support workers and families, so people do not need to choose between risking their own health or caring for a loved one and losing their job.

5.

Strengthening collective bargaining rights and protecting workers’ ability to unionize and bargain for better pay, benefits and working conditions, including workplaces free from harassment and discrimination.
